Genie launches cold weather kit

Genie has launched a new cold weather kit for its North American boom lifts.

Genie says that the new package combines the best features from its former Arctic and Cold Packages into a single ‘Cold Weather Package’.

The new package includes synthetic engine oil, a 110V AC warming blanket for the starting battery, and either an oil pan heater or engine block heater depending on engine type.

The package may also include a ground control LCD panel heating element, platform control board heater, 110V AC hydraulic reservoir warming blanket and platform function hydraulic oil recirculation that keeps warm fluid continuously flowing to and from the platform functions.

The package also contains an oversized foot switch cover that accommodates winter footwear.

Frank Schneider, Genie boom product manager, said: “The user will experience greater uptime with our Cold Weather Package because it is designed to do two things, improve engine starting in cold conditions and optimize LCD display and hydraulic drive and function response.”
