UK Launch for Haulotte Compact 14

Haulotte launched the Compact 14 at an open day at its UK base in Telford yesterday.

The new model which shares most of its components with other models in the Compact range, is just 1.2 metres wide by 2.45 metres long and yet boasts a platform height of just under 40ft – 12 metres. The highest such machine from any major manufacturer.

In spite of its height, compact dimensions and 350 kgs of lift capacity, the Compact 14 weighs just 3,170kgs.

The first five units destined for the UK have already been sold, with several other companies showing interest.

The Compact 14 was 'launched quietly' at Intermat earlier this year, with many visitors not appreciating the significance of this new product lanch.

Vertikal Comment

The modern 1.2m x 2.4 metre electric slab scissor lift has grown in height since its launch in early 1994. It began at 20 and 26ft, and was later extended to a 32ft model, where it has remained for some 10 years or so. Some niche producers have tackled this size of lift, but until now none of the major North American manufacturers have attempted to take this size of lift any higher.

The new Haulotte will take some business away from larger bulkier units, but more importantly should prove to be highly popular for a number of specific applications. Particularly given the price for its working envelope.
