Palfinger opens new Cylinder facility
Austrian based crane and access company, Palfinger, celebrated the opening of its new €700,000 long cylinder production line in Tenevo, Bulgaria last week.
Over 400 employees, family members and visitors, including Hubert Palfinger senior, Martin Zehnder, group production director and Dr. Michael Angerer, trade delegate of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce in Sofia.
Tours of the plant demonstrated the production of a hydraulic cylinder from the sawn raw material to final assembly, while a supporting programme included musical and cultural performances, a children’s programme and dancing in addition to demonstrations of cranes that use cylinders from Tenevo.

Palfinger's Tenevo plant can now produce hydraulic cylinders up to 12 metres long
Andreas Strauch, managing director of the plant, said that 30 new jobs had been created on the new line, which can produce cylinders up to 12 metres long – for use on the company’s larger truck mounted lifts. And pointed ou that it is part of an upgrading of the site with a view to the future.

Hubert Palfinger added: “The relocation of cylinder production to Bulgaria had proven to be a good step. Every employee has contributed to this achievement and should be proud of it.”.
The mayor of the municipality of Tundja, Georgi Georgiev, thanked Palfinger for its commitment over many years and underlined the significance for the region of the jobs created.
