Jack Ford 1925-2009

We have received the sad news of the passing of Jack Ford, the founder of Kato Cranes UK passed away peacefully in his sleep last night, the 9th November, aged 84.

Ford retired in 1987 after a lifetime working in the construction and crane industry. He founded Kato cranes with his Swedish business partner Burt Jonsson in 1972 and thanks to his efforts built the Kato brand into one of the most prolific selling cranes in the UK.

He leaves behind his wife Rita and sons Simon, Peter and John.
