Strong November for GGR

Mini crane and glass handling specialist GGR has reported strong sales in November with 27 cranes sold.

The company is the European region master distributor for Unic spider cranes and UK distributor for Galizia pick & carry cranes

Included in the months sales were 22 units through its distribution network, with units sold in France, Germany, Italy, Abu Dhabi and the Czech Republic.

A further five cranes were sold in the UK, including a Unic URW-094 to Arco Engineering in Essex, a Unic URW-095 to Mars Pet care in Melton Mowbray, two Unic URW-295 to Burnley Council and Dowlen Technic Limited and a URW-376 to Wise Steelwork in Oxfordshire,.

Mars Petcare produces well known pet foods such as Whiskas and Pedigree from its Melton Mowbray location. The tri-fuel petrol/LPG/AC URW-095 spider crane, includes the searcher hook option, and will be used for maintenance of the production line. The Mars team who will operate the crane also attended GGR’s specialist training centre for CPCS A66 training.

Burnley Council bought a URW 295 crane, mainly for the purpose of lifting and resetting fallen grave stones, GGR also supplied the stone lifting clamp to minimise manual handling.

Steel fabricators and erectors Wise Steelwork, in Oxfordshire, offers steel fabrication and steel erection services, specializing in more complex contracts, often with difficult access. Keith Gresty, managing director said: “We’ve got an extremely high profile job at a luxury hotel in London and knew there was no other way of getting the steel into place without the URW-376. It’ll be extremely useful for all areas of our business and we’re very pleased with it already.”
