Liebherr changes crane nomenclature

Liebherr has introduced a new naming system for its all terrain (AT) crane models to be implemented during the next couple of months.

As before, the maximum capacity of the crane will continue to be represented in the model number, but this will now be followed by the number of axles on the crane, followed by the model version. For example, the currently named crane model LTM 1045/1 will become the LTM 1045-3.1, ‘45‘ being the capacity, ‘3‘ being the number of axles and ‘1‘ being the model version number.

All crane models under the new system will begin as model version number one, with each crane additon being asigned the appropriate chronological version number. It is hoped that the new system will provide quick reference to Liebherr’s cranes, particularly to those with four and five axles of which the company produces six different versions. The only crane models that will keep their original names will be the LTM 1060/2 and LTM 1800.

The new crane model names to implemented are as follows:

LTM 1030-2.1
LTM 1045-3.1
LTC 1055-3.1
LTM 1055-3.1
LTM 1090-4.1
LTM 1100-4.1
LTM 1100-5.1
LTM 1150-5.1
LTM 1220-5.1
LTM 1250-6.1
LTM 1300-6.1
LTM 1400-7.1
LTM 1500-8.1
