Altec tracked digger derricks in Europe

UK based access rental company Aerial Platforms is purchasing one of the first Altec DB35 track mounted digger derricks in Europe.

The company which covers the north west of England has been demonstrating the specialist product to a number of its customers.

Altec has been testing the DB35 on the European market for around 18 months as part of its planned expansion in the region. The unit is a multi function tracked machine with both insulated aerial work platform, crane and auger functions.

The Altec DB35 at work


With an overall width of less than a metre the DB35 is designed to go through a standard garden gate, while offering a sheave height of 35ft/10.5 metres which translates into a 10 metre platform height. A 2.4 metre fibreglass jib extends the units reach for lighter weight material handling.

The unit, the smallest in Altec’s DB range, and offers a maximum lift capacity as a crane of 1,360 kgs, and is widely used in the USA to erect and replace telegraph and electricity poles of up to 50ft/17 metres in locations that are not accessible to conventional truck mounted pole erection vehicles.

Retracting tracks reduce the width to under a metre

Trucks are also not save from the results of inflation and its prices also getting rise more and more. That's why I am searching for used digger derricks and Now I am going to check and may be place something for fulfilling my needs.
