Lifterz Acquires C&G Platforms
UK-based access rental company, Lifterz has acquired C&G Platforms from its owners Catherine and Graham Campbell.
C&G was founded 23 years ago to sell and support access equipment and built a business as a local Genie dealer. Today in addition to carrying out service and repairs, including a larger number of service contracts, it brokers platform rental and training.
The company currently outsources all of its services including servicing and LOLER testing. As a result the acquisition adds no additional staff, premises or fleet to Lifterz and is driven by Campbell’s wish to start “slowing down a little” although he will play a major part in the integration of his business into Lifterz.
Cambell is a well known veteran of the powered access industry having started in 1967 as a sales manager with John Rusling, the Instant/Upright distributor for the UK.
Speaking of the sale of the business he said: “Looking at how well our two companies have worked together over the past three years on various projects, this is a perfect coming together of two similarly minded and service oriented businesses. I really look forward to introducing my customers to the Lifterz fold.”
Malcolm Bowers of Lifterz added: “Fleet expansion is not something at the forefront of our minds right now and this acquisition allows us to grow our sales through non capital intensive means. This is something that we will continue to drive forward in the future. It also gives us an opening into a good, long established, non-construction customer base of accounts that will benefit from the services and products that we can now offer them.”
