Steve Couling to head Versalift

In an announcement to staff at Versalift, the vehicle mounted access platform producer, yesterday afternoon, Steve Couling, European sales and marketing director for UpRight, was named as the Managing Director designate of Versalift Distributors ltd, replacing Tony Coleman when he retires at the end of this year.

Versalift is part of the Time manufacturing group from Waco Texas, and is owned by O’Flaherty holdings of Dublin. The company conducted an unusually high profile and public recruitment campaign to find a successor to Coleman.

Versalift distributors ltd distribute and mount the Versalift products throughout the UK and Ireland and operate from a service and manufacturing base in Northamptonshire. The company has become the market leader in van mounted lifts in the UK and Ireland market in the 10 years since it was founded in 1994.

Couling originally joined the UK division of UpRight and was sales director for UpRight UK prior to taking on the European role in early 2003. UpRight have confirmed that Couling will be leaving the company as of September 17th but declined to comment on his future role.
