Fork Rent adds Manitou

Ipswich, UK based rental company Fork Rent has added 10 Manitou MT1436R telehandlers to its fleet. The 14 metre - 3,600kg lift capacity Privilege models join a one of the UK’s largest telehandler fleets which is currently dominated by JCB.

Fork Rent managing director Guy Nicholls said: “ This is the beginning of a new working relationship with Manitou, we have enjoyed excellent utilisation and reliability from our fleet of Manitou access platforms over the last few years so it was a natural progression to purchase the Manitou telehandlers. The Manitou ‘Privilege’ machines are a quality build and incorporate a lot of safety features as standard. We always look for the most modern machinery which combines the latest technology with a robust design, with all the necessary protection for lights vital to reduce damage costs and maintain a good condition for second hand value. The Manitou high lift range meets all our criteria”.

His sister Trudi Nicholls added: “The house building sector is challenging but we have supplemented the fluctuations in demand with an upturn from the utilities, civil engineering, public works and infrastructure projects. We have a good mix of work from construction and are experiencing a gradual increase in house building. Our dedicated hire sales team have a wealth of knowledge and understand our customer’s needs. This discipline also applies to the service we provide, all machines are thoroughly checked at our facility in Ipswich before the hire commences.”
