Zip-Up Svenska changes hands

The majority owners of Swedish based access company Zip–Up Svenska AB have reached an agreement to sell their shares to the minority shareholders and managers - Pia Ringdahl and Rickard Holmlund as chief executive Lennart Mattsson prepares to retire.

After 29 years with the company, Mattsson and fellow investors, Roland Holmlund and Anders Lotsengård are cutting their day to day ties with the business. The transfer completes a process that began in 2003 when Ringdahl and Holmlund acquired their first shares.

The deal completes on the 1st of May 2010.

Mattsson said: “With financing solved and Pia (26 years with Zip-Up) and Rickard (14 years) in charge, I am very confident that Zip-Up will continue on the journey that started in 1978. My successors are of course free to call me for advice anytime after my retirement at the end of June.

“This really gives Zip-Up a great opportunity to continue with the objective to be the best supplier to Swedish rental companies”, added Holmlund.
Mattson joined Zip-Up in 1982 and worked for many years with Zip-Up founder Peter Frisk before buying him out when he retired in 1997.

Another great access guy to retire but followed up with the right people. Lennart Mattson, whom I know since 1994 is a good friend, Rickard is a great fellow and definitly going to push the business forward succesfully.
