Shaughnessy leaves Skyjack

Neither Skyjack nor its owner Linamar have released an official announcement yet. However we have been able to categorically confirm the reports from sources in Europe and North America.

We also called IPAF the International Powered Access Federation, given that Shaughnessy is also its president, serving a two year term. The federation declined to comment on the report and referred us to Skyjack.

It did however issue a statement as to the position of its president which is as follows:
Statement
The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) confirms that Steve Shaughnessy has agreed to continue his term of office as IPAF President despite his changed professional situation.

The changes and implications were reviewed at a teleconference of the IPAF Board held on 18 October 2010. The Board was keen that Steve Shaughnessy should continue as IPAF President and it was agreed that he will carry out these duties until the matter can be reviewed at the next scheduled meeting of the IPAF Council.

Shaughnessy, a New England rental man, from a famous Boston crane rental family, joined Skyjack at the start of this year. He had left the UK division of European rental company Loxam the previous August.

Prior to that he was managing director of specialist products at A-Plant, having joined the buisness in 2004 to head its access division. Prior to joining A-Plant and moving to the UK he was chief operating officer of NES Rentals in the USA.
