60ft MECs for Lifterz

UK rental company Lifterz has taken the first 60ft MEC 6092RT Ultra-Deck scissor lifts in the UK from local distributor APS. The company took delivery of two units in April with a further two scheduled for delivery later this month.

The MEC 6092RT provides a working height of 20.5 metres, a platform length of 7.5 metres – with the dual decks extended – and a 600kg platform capacity. Weighing 9,200kg, features include MEC’s Quad-Trax 4x4 drive system, active oscillating axles and auto-levelling outriggers.

Lifterz chairman Malcolm Bowers, said: “We are proud to be the first UK company to offer the unique MEC 6092RT for hire. It bridges the gap between the mainstream Rough Terrain scissors that only go up to 53ft and the larger, heavy duty products from the likes of Holland Lift. The machine is well thought-out and the build quality is excellent, so I am sure it will be a hit with our customers.”

He added: “The deck length of 7.5m and healthy lift capacity make this scissor lift an ideal ‘aerial workshop’ for our customers in the pipefitting and sprinkler installation industries. We will also be offering re-hire of these scissor lifts to other Access Link members throughout the UK.”

Lifterz has a fleet of around 800 aerial work platforms and has depots in Yorkshire, Lancashire and the East Midlands. It is a member of the Access Link - the UK’s largest national network of independent powered access hire companies - which has a combined 38 depots.

The problem is does 6092 stands for it costing £60 grand and you get £92 a week for it?
I hope not.

Someone had to take the leap of fairh! Well done Malcolm, I really liked the look of these at recent shows, and feel they would really compliment our fleet. Looks like MEC have a winning unit, and a great overall package. Can't wait to see them in operational circumstances in the years to come. And healthy competition for the large deck manufacturers.
