Crane Management UK goes with Maeda

Thetford, Norfolk, based Crane Management UK has purchased six Maeda MC285CRM(E) 2.8 tonne capacity spider cranes for a cladding project in London.

The investment is part of a plan for the company to diversify into this part of the crane market. Crane Management UK is owned by Doug Genge who also owns the tower crane specialist Falcon Crane Hire. Both companies share a facility in Shipdham near Thetford.

The MC285 has a hook height of up to 8.7 metres

The cranes will go straight to work on a major regeneration project in East London with one of the UK's leading cladding companies, M. Price of Enfield. The cranes are equipped with single fall hook blocks and extended cable remote control units to enable the lifting of loads from the ground when located on the roofs of buildings to 35 metres high.

The MC285 weighs less than two tonnes so is ideal for roof work

Crane Management UK says that it carried out a detailed consultation and evaluation of available models, before concluding that the electric powered Maeda MC285CRM(E) was the best machine for the application.
