Snorkel terminates Bielefeld

Snorkel has announced that it has terminated all distribution agreements with Hubarbeitsbühnen Bielefeld in Germany with immediate effect.

The announcement goes on to say “Bielefeld no longer has any rights to represent the Snorkel brand.”

Snorkel teamed up with Bielefeld under the Snorkel Deutschland brand which will continue to be used by Snorkel although Hubarbeitsbühnen Bielefeld GmbH no longer has any involvement with the organisation.

Snorkel says that it will provide full product support, spare parts and machine sales in Germany both directly and through its regional distributors including Josef Siegl in Bavaria and Power-Lift Deutschland.

The statement closes with “Any Snorkel or UpRight customers in Germany who were dealing with Bielefeld and may be concerned about support, or require further information, can contact Snorkel’s central Customer Services team on +44 845 155 0057 or via the website www.snorkellifts.com.”

Vertikal Comment

Hubarbeitsbühnen Bielefeld – largely Carsten Bielefeld – took over the Snorkel/UpRight distribution just over a year ago. He previously represented Iteco on a semi-formal basis and Matilsa, the Spanish based boom and trailer lift manufacturer.

It is highly unusual for such a manufacturer to announce such a firm and immediate dissolution of a distribution agreement. A few issues bring such clarity to the decision and one easily can imagine what that might be.

This is the same Carsten Bielefeld that also had a major issue with Iteco and I guess its the same with Snorkel. He is beginning to build a bad profile for himself. Be aware!!
