Appleton appointed TP divisional chairman

Kevin Appleton – ex chief executive of the Lavendon group – is to join UK based Travis Perkins on 16th April as divisional chairman Builders Merchants division which includes its rental arm - TP Hire.

He will take over fully from Joe Mescall - who has decided to step down as divisional chairman, as part of his retirement planning - later this year. Mescall has been with the group for 39 years.

TP has a revenues in the region of £1.5bn with more than 600 outlets.

Appleton was with Lavendon for more than eight years before leaving the business last June.
