SafeWork Australia is looking for public comment on its draft code of practice governing the manufacture, import, sale and supply etc… of construction and other equipment – the ‘Safe Design, Manufacture, Input and Supply of Plant’ code of Practice.

The draft code raises issues that will affect and become requirements for rental companies and equipment lessors, suppliers of second hand machinery as well as importers and suppliers of equipment in general. The deadline for submitting any input is June 22nd.

Most equipment related associations in Australia, such as the EWPA have already raised some reservations about the proposals, but are encouraging their members to make their individual views known directly.
