Crushing incident in the UK
A man said to be in his early 20s was injured yesterday after he was trapped between steelwork and the guardrails of the aerial work platform he was using on a school site in Reading, southern England.
The platform was lowered to the ground by work colleagues and the man then transferred from the platform to a spinal board by the emergency services, with suspected chest and neck injuries. The Health & Safety Executive is investigating.
The contractor on the Katesgrove Primary School site is Morgan Sindall which has confirmed the incident and that the man, part of its site team, suffered a disslocated shoulder but is recovering well in hospital.
