Indian success for Liebherr tower cranes
Liebherr booked orders for 14 locally built flat-top 85 EC-B 5i tower cranes at the recent Bauma India show in Mumbai.
12 of the cranes, manufactured at the Liebherr CMCtec India plant in Pune, were ordered by rental company Sai Infraa Equipments and two by contractor Gopalan Enterprises of Bangalore.

Sai Infraa ordered its cranes with freestanding hook heights of 38 metres, six of which will be equipped with a climbing system. The company also agreed to continue its collaboration with Liebherr that has already seen the delivery of several Liebherr tower cranes, including two 71 EC-B 5 and an 30 LC.
Gopalan Enterprises ordered one of its units with a climbing system, both new cranes will go to work on a large-scale project in Bangalore. The company already has a Liebherr 71 EC-B 5 flat-top.
The 85 EC-B 5i offers a maximum capacity of 5,000 kg and a capacity at the 50 metre jib tip of 1,300kg. The 85 EC-B 5i offers a streamlined 85 LC tower system with new pin connections. Hook heights up to 278 m can be achieved using the climbing system.
The contracts were signed on the Liebherr stand by the managing directors of the two companies and Dominique Tasch, managing director of Liebherr-Werk Biberach with regional sales manager David Griffin, and the sales team at Liebherr India. Liebherr associate Jan Liebherr also attended.
