Wotschke leaves Teupen

Michael Wotschke joint chief executive at Teupen, the spider and truck mounted lift manufacturer has left the company.

He resigned on May 7th as we reported on our twitter feed - but the company has only now issued a statement on the subject: "Michael Wotschke informed the shareholders of Mechanical Engineering and Service Holding GmbH and Teupen Maschinenbau GmbH that he wished to resign his position as managing director of both companies. The shareholders have complied with his request and dismissed Mr. Wotschke as managing director of two companies with effect from May 7th. Michael Scheuss will provisionally take over his duties".

Scheuss, 50, joined the business in late February as a joint managing director sharing the chief executive role with Wotschke, 52, who had been in the post since 2009, initially as joint CEO with Alfons Thihatmer who left the business a year later.

In February Scheuss took over responsibility for innovation, overseeing the supply chain, production and logistics process as well as research and development and after-sales-services. Leaving Wotschke with international sales and marketing. Click here to see new CEO for Teupen

This move possibly brings to a close a period of massive change at Teupen which has seen the departure of most of its senior staff associated with the sales and marketing management- particularly those associated with the company's exports.

The company has been majority owned by Nord Holding since February 2008 when it acquired the shares of Andreas Grochowiak and Alfons Thihatmer. Wotschke was brought in to take over from the two partners and manage the business for the new owners.
