Riwal takes 100% of Spanish operation

International aerial lift and telehandler rental group Riwal, has bought out the minority shareholders in Riwal Spain.

At the same time the Carga - lift trucks and Ecologic electric vehicle divisions - were transferred to the minority shareholders and David Cagigas Gavira has been appointed as country manager, Riwal Spain.

Cagigas entered the access industry from Chep at the end of 2000, joining Lavendon’s Spanish business Zooom Spain. Since then he has worked for Lavendon in the Middle East and then France until he departed early last year. In his new role he will be responsible for developing and leading the execution of the Riwal’s Spanish strategy.

Riwal’s region director Wayne Lawson said: “Riwal is positioned to provide enhanced service levels in the challenging Spanish market. With the extensive experience of David Cagigas in the Spanish powered access industry, he will be instrumental in helping Riwal continue to provide outstanding service for our customers and to serve as a strong leader for our employees in this critical country in Europe.”

Riwal acquired a 70 percent stake in Spanish rental company Clem back in 2008 and renamed the business Riwal Spain. The other shareholders were Clem founder Jose Noguera, Jose Jaime Noguera and the Noguera family. Click here to see Riwal moves into Spain
