The three Sparrow brothers (L-R) George, Gordon and Alf in the 1960s

George left school at 14, joining the family business and helping his brother launch the crane business that was to grow into a global operation, in the 1940's this included driving a taxi at night to help fund the emerging business. He was less 'hands on' than his two brothers, both of whom became accomplished crane operators, and so manned the office helping ensure that the administration kept up with the physical work.

The funeral was held at Bath Crematorium on 10th July at 11.30 a.m.
Family flowers only please. Donations welcome to Dorothy House Hospice Care c/o Clarksons Funerals, 7 Windsor Place, Upper Bristol Road, Bath BA1 3DF.
