St Petersburg scaffold

Spotted by a reader in St Petersburg, Russia a couple of weeks ago, a man rendering the façade of a building from a free standing tower with a platform height of more than 10 metres and not outriggers.

In our readers own words: “At least they put some red and white tape around the bottom. No stabilisers, No security rope. Just two lunes swaying in the breeze”

A free standing tower swaying in the wind.

Working alongside the road the base of this well braced tower will certainly not provide the stability to safely support the two men working from it. The platform looks like it comprises two short planks and- no toe-boards.

If this tower were to go over it would come down across both lanes of this busy street.

Definitely one for the Death Wish series.
