Aerial Access on the move

Aerial Access has announced that it has doubled its distribution network to 35 overseas outlets up from 15 at the time it was acquired by the Tanfield Group in October 2004...

New distributors include, Electricom of Romania, Moscow based crane and plant hirer Rentalift and Net Mak in Turkey. Distributors have also been signed up in Lithuania, Latvia, Greece, Cyprus and Saudi Arabia.

The company also notes that around 90 percent of its production is exported, with the USA and Australia being its largest markets. It is intent though on winning a share of the UK access market, currently Europe’s largest and one of the fastest growing following the new Work At Height Rules that came in to law earlier this year.

Aerial Pioneer AD17T all terrain lift

The Tanfield Group Plc acquired Aerial Access as part of the Gateshead based SEV Group Ltd, It has since moved all manufacturing operations to its 250,000sq ft factory in Stanley, county Durham

Darren Kell, business development director at Aerial, said: “Attracting the right calibre of international dealers was vital for us, to continue the fast pace of Aerial’s growth.”

“By introducing modern cellular manufacturing techniques, we have increased output to 70 units a month, compared to 12 a month under the previous owners,” said Kell.
“This growth in capacity has been more than met by the appetite for our products in the international marketplace.”

“It is ironic that Aerial Access has such a good name abroad but is not as established in the UK. The product range was significantly downsized under the previous owners and we are in the process of reversing that”
.
“The UK market also requires a different strategy to international sales and we believe we now have the right strategy in place to move forward.”
