Ten Dutch crane men identified

On December 18th we published a picture of 21 members of the Dutch crane ndustry, dating from 1980 to1982 under the story “Flashback”.

A large number of you emailed us with a name or two, this week we probably have a winner though. Dick Schalekamp senior looks set to take the prize naming 10 of the 21 Dutchmen, to be fair two of them cannot be seen so it is ten out of 19.

Given that with 10 out 19 visible faces, no one can beat him, (unless they can also name the “foreigners”) We are publishing the picture again with those names already identified by Dick, for those of you in Holland who love a challenge to see if you can beat him.

A few comments: the seventh face from the left is David Milne now sales director of Liebherr in the UK.

Schalekamp is certain the cool guy in the shades and the pretty baby blue coat is Peter Peinemann.. we are not sure..one thing is certain he doesn’t wear that coat any more!

We think he should have recognised the ninth man from the left and the third from the right, but as they are not crane hirers he probably did not mention them??? In case you wondered we can name all but seven of the prople in the photo.
