Another AC700 for Wiesbauer

German crane rental company Wiesbauer has taken delivery of its new 700 tonne nine axle Terex AC700, the company’s fifth.

One of the first jobs for the new crane involved the erection of a large tower crane in the Swabian town of Kornwestheim, where construction company Trinac is building a new office block for the Wüstenrot bank.

In order to reach the required hook heights of up to 70 metres Wiesbauer configured the AC 700 with fully extended 60 metre main plus 26.4 metres extension, along with the SSL superlift system and 100 tonnes of counterweight.

The heaviest load was the 20.5 tonne slewing unit which had to be lifted to a hook height of 70 metres at 24 metres radius. The main tower crane jib section was 40 metres long and weighed 20 tonnes and also had to be lifted to a height of 70 metres.

Wiesbauer's latest AC700 on one of its first jobs

Crane operator Günther Mühleck said: “When lifting loads with these dimensions, it’s not enough to just rely on your expert touch. You also need a crane with extraordinary precision. And with its easy-to-use responsive controls, the AC 700 proved to be the perfect machine for the job”.

General manager Thomas Wiesbauer added: “We had the crane stationed at our headquarters in Bietigheim-Bissingen precisely at the right time and it is only an hour away from the work site in Kornwestheim. Traveling to the site with the AC 700 crane was relatively easy, requiring only the appropriate travel permit and what in Germany is referred to as a “BF-3 third-generation escort vehicle. the unit was accompanied by an assist crane and four trucks”.
