Lines still down but here is a taste

We are still unable to bring you a full news service from Germanys big access industry get together in Hohenroda this week. Due to a failure of the internet lines provided to the remote location by T-Mobile. Here are a few tasters though brought to you via a slow dial up line.

We will provide a proper update early next week from our offices.

This years event was highly successful with virtually every exhibitor agreeing that it was by the best ever in terms of contacts and sales. Every single lift manufacturer we spoke with said that they had booked a good number of orders at the event.

News includes:

Wumag announcing a few details of its planned 100 metre plus truck mounted lift. The company has sold the first three units in Germany and is now prepared to book the first export orders.

While few details are yet available, we can tell you that it will be mounted on a five axle 10x8x8 compact purpose built All Terrain carrier. It will weigh less than 60 tonnes and be fully roadable throughout Europe. The unit will be based on Wumag’s WT850 model, in terms of boom configuration.

Dino displayed its 5,000th machine on its stand. The unit, its best selling 16TX articulated telescopic trailer lift, was sold at Platformers Days with two customers bidding for this anniversary model. Will there be two 5,000th machines?

Teupen finalised a nice deal with Stuttgart based Mateco for eight Leo crawler mounted lifts. Including three 15’s, three 30’s one 23 a Leo 50, the fourth in Germany.

Snorkel displayed a 10m compact rough terrain scissor lift produced at its New Zealand production facility.

Nostolift managing director, Tommi Rautavalta attended the event, to discuss the company’s impending takeover of Kesla, with customers. Nostolift will take over sales of Kesla lifts on September first and production in late October.

The Vertikal Check covered 14 to 16m spider lifts


The Vertikal Check, which this year covered 14 to 16 metre ‘spider lifts’ was a little disappointing with two manufacturers having to drop out due to late delivery of new 16 metre models, while a third was unable to deliver a unit to the event. In the end the three volume producers participated, Hinowa, Oil&Steel and Teupen. A full report in the next issues of Cranes&Access and Kran&Bühne.
