Link Belt Cranes has announced the retirement of vice president of engineering Don Moore at the end of this year.
Richard Shultz, currently director of quality, will take over the role from the start of January. He joined Link-Belt in 1990 as an associate design engineer and gradually moved up through the ranks, including a 14 year spell leading the development efforts for telescopic cranes, before taking up his current role last year.

Don Moore began working with Link-Belt in 1977, joining the company directly from college as an associate design engineer in the tower gantry crane product group at Link-Belt at its plant in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He then moved into the lattice boom crawler product group, and was eventually promoted to senior design engineer. When lattice boom cranes were transferred to the headquarters plant in Lexington, Kentucky, he moved with them, and has since been involved in the management of lattice and telescopic crawler cranes, as well as overseeing product safety, testing, and technical publication functions. He took up his current position as vice president of engineering in January 2012, assumed responsibility for all design functions.
