Kramer extends telehandler line

Kramer, the German based equipment producer has unveiled its latest telescopic handler, the 4009, it’s largest so far and the first that is likely to have any appeal to the construction market.

The company has produced four models the six metre, 3006 and 3606 and the seven metre 3207 and 4107. These units were displayed to the public at Intermat and SED earlier this year See New Kramer telehandlers at SED

The new machine will lift up to four tonnes and offers a maximum lift height of nine metres, without the need for outriggers. “This was particularly important for us because we wanted to ensure fast work and maximum flexibility”, says Kramer's product manager, Norbert Mingau.

He also claims that in spite of its compact dimensions the unit has, what it calls a large “force triangle” formed by the lift cylinder, frame and boom, which combined with a Z-linkage provide excellent lift and tear out forces. So confident is he about the new models capability that he says that with the boom fully extended in the horizontal position, the machine can raise loads that no other nine metre telehandler can tackle.

Frame levelling and an oscillating axle interlock are available as optional equipment. The high steering crank angles of 2 x 43° provide good manoeuvrability, while visibility is apparently enhanced by the fact that the boom can be fully lowered into a U-shaped chassis, completely out of the driver's field of vision.

Kramer plans to introduce two further telehandler models in early 2007 designated the 4013 and 4017 with lift heights of 13 and 17 metres respectively.
