Happy New Year

2019 is here and we would like to thank you all for your support in 2018 and to wish you a very happy, safe and prosperous year in 2019.

While 2018 has generally been a good year for business, including the markets we cover, storm clouds have been brewing as the global trading system has been subjected to changes, threats and challenges.

Much of this is down to a rapidly changing environment, as new technologies come of age and a new order beckons with challenges for some traditional methods and business models, while throwing up dozens of new opportunities for those who can spot them and are well placed to exploit them.

One thing has not changed – the need for good information, this is particularly true as we move through an age where a large percentage of news and information is inaccurate or blatantly untrue! The age of Fake News and Alternative Facts! This certainly raises the bar for the work we do, where the challenge is to provide accurate and factual news promptly, while coming under pressure to publish.

All of us at Vertikal see this as an opportunity, not stay true to what we already do, but to step up and improve our efforts in an increasingly confusing world. During the first quarter we will launch our totally new website/news portal – our biggest investment to date. Hopefully that it will provide our readers with an even better more attractive and modern news and information source, but more importantly it will provide a foundation to develop new ideas over the next 10 years.

With that said we would like to thank all of you who supported us in 2018, whether that be advertising in our magazines or online, or taking out a paid subscription. Without your help we simply could not do what we do.
