Pat Schmetzer joins MEC

California based manufacturer MEC Aerial Work Platforms has appointed access industry veteran Pat Schmetzer as director, product training and risk management.

He joins the company after more than seven years with Equipment Depot where he was director of rental, having joined the company in 2011as service and key customer manager. Prior to that he was vice present operations at Trico responsible for six branches in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, and Virginia.

He began his access industry career in 1990 when he joined UpRight as manager of safety and service training. In 2001 he moved to Trico Lift in New Jersey as regional sales manager, leaving in 2005 to join Bobcat as general sales manager, re-joining Trico in 2008.

MEC president David White said: “Pat Schmetzer’s vast product and industry knowledge will elevate MEC’s efforts in defining and implementing long term customer training objectives, programmes, and methods in accordance with industry best practices and customer requirements. We are pleased to add this level of talent to the MEC team as we continue to position ourselves for additional sales growth and increasing market partnership”.
