5,000 tonner delivered

UK heavy lift and haulage company Collett & Sons has completed the delivery of the 5,000 tonne Sarens SGC-250 heavy lift crane to the Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power Plant site in Somerset.

Launched last year, the SGC-250 is one of the world’s largest land based cranes and will play a key role in constructing the power plant, currently the largest and most complex civil engineering project in the UK. The crane will be used to lift the heaviest of 600 fabrications, including the five major components of each unit’s steel containment liner and dome.
