Haulotte appoints Vertex

Haulotte has appointed Russian sales and rental company Vertex as one of its official dealers. The dealership agreement has been signed with the Vertex division - Vysotnie Rabochie Platformi - and covers two locations, Nizhny Novgorod to the east of Moscow, and Kazan in south west Russia.

The agreement was signed in Moscow in late November following a visit to France by Vertex senior managers, including Dmitry Pankin and Andrey Goykhman. The visit took in the three Haulotte plants in France, the telehandler plant in Lyon, the boom and diesel scissor facility in Le Creusot and slab electric scissor lift factory in Reims.

The deal was sealed with a €15 million order for a variety of Haulotte lifts, with working heights up to 41 metres, a number of them equipped with optional arctic packages.

Vertex signed a similar deal with JLG in 2015 See JLG makes Vertex partnership official, although the company says that it no longer offers JLG machines for sale, but DOES still provide parts and service and runs JLG machines in its rental fleet.

The appointment takes Haulotte's Russian dealer network to 20 companies operating from 25 locations.

Vertikal Comment

Given how many JLG machines Vertex has taken over the past few years, this might appear to be a slightly strange move. However regardless of any issues between Vertex and JLG it is a fact that US trade tariffs and embargoes on Russian goods has generated similar tariffs and restrictions on American products, which has had a negative effect on JLG’s market share in Russia, while providing a positive opportunity for European manufacturers. This US / Russian trading challenges are likely to have been a significant factor in this deal.

Haulotte is now almost certainly the market leader in Russia, having established its own operation in the country Haulotte Vostok - in 2005.
