Custom low rider

Low level powered access specialist Custom Equipment will launch its first 19ft Hy-Brid scissor lift in February.

The PS-1930 will be the first and largest model in its new ‘Pro Series’ range and will feature a significantly lower scissor stack to the majority of 19ft scissor lifts on the market. At under 1.9 metres high and 762mm wide it will pass through standard single doorways and into elevators without need to fold down guardrails. The company also claims that it will benefit from the lowest step-in height in the industry.

A glimpse at the Custom’s new Hy-Brid PS-1930

The new model will incorporate the company’s LeakGuard system, which is sufficient to capture and retain all of the machine’s hydraulic oil in the case of a catastrophic failure of a hose or fitting. It will also meet the new ANSI A92.20 standards which come into effect March 2020.

Terry Dolan, Hy-Brid chief executive said: “Everything people love about Hy-Brid Lifts is now available in an even taller machine. While many projects can be accomplished with a ten or 14-foot lift, the benefits of a 19-foot lift are undeniable. In fact, years of studies have shown that 85 percent of access work can be accomplished with a shorter lift, yet the 19-foot market remains the most popular product segment. Customers were asking for a taller lift, so we delivered. To enter this arena, we were adamant that our product would not be another ‘me too’ product but rather something different than any other on the market. We delivered with the unique lightweight design of the PS-1930.”

We understand that the new machine will have a very good platform capacity for its size - at just under 300kg – and features a 762mm deck extension. It will also be the first Hy-Brid model to be rated for both indoor and outdoor use, although working height is restricted when working outdoors. Total weight is just over 900kg and it is in keeping with the manufacturers reputation for machines that offer low ground bearing pressure.
