Australian rental company Kimberley Cranes has taken delivery of a new 25 tonne Franna Mac 25-5SL articulated pick & carry crane.
The Mac 25-5SL features an 18 metre four section boom and a short three metre jib for a maximum tip height of 21.4 metres. It can handle its maximum capacity at a 1.5 metre radius and a height of 5.2 metres. The capacity on full boom is 1,600kg, which it can also handle at its maximum 14.1 radius.
The new crane arrives on site with Kimberley Cranes
The crane has an overall width of 2.8 metres, is 3.65 metres high and has an overall chassis length of 7.5 metres. Power comes from a Mercedes diesel linked to a six speed Allison speed transmission. The crane has an overall weight of just under 24 tonnes and a maximum road speed of 80kph / 50mph.
Key features, such as the Dynamic LMI (load moment indicator) system, provide real time load monitoring and enhanced operational safety.
The company ordered the crane with the Superlift counterweight system - introduced in 2012 - which increases lift capacity by up to 30 percent.
Franna said: “This machine will be hard at work in Kununurra, supporting their customers across the region with reliable lifting solutions. Congratulations to Matt and the team on this addition!”
Based in Kununurra, northwestern Australia, and founded in 2011 as Hopkins Hire, the company rebranded to Kimberley Cranes in 2022. Today it runs a fleet of pick & carry cranes along with Tadano and Zoomlion All Terrains as well as JLG and Genie articulated boom lifts.
