Faymonville big blade transporter
International heavy trailer manufacturer Faymonville has launched its WingMAX flatbed semi-trailer for transporting wind turbine blades with an overall length of more than 70 metres.
Part of the company’s TeleMAX range, the new three or four axle WingMAX features a four section telescopic loading platform with hydraulic stabilisers which allow it to be extended or shorted under load. Other features include a hydraulically operated gooseneck that can be elevated by up to 1.7 metres and pendle axles which provide up to 60 degrees of rotation and up to 600mm clearance.

The WingMAX can transport wind turbine blades of more than 70 metres in length
Product manager Rainer Noe said: “In combination with the hydraulically lifting and lowering gooseneck, the new WingMAX can overcome any obstacles that cross its path, such as roundabouts. As a result, the route is manageable even in the case of demanding terrain conditions and road profiles. For wind turbine blades in XXL format with a length of more than 70 metres, Faymonville has now developed a vehicle that is not only long, but also strong and very easy to manoeuvre.”
