Italian loader crane manufacturer PM has appointed Stefano Ghesini as sales director of Italy and promoted Marco Castiglione to export sales director.
As sales director Ghesini has the task of consolidating existing business relationships and expanding the PM crane distribution network in its home market. He returns to PM after two and a half years as commercial director with Italian flat pack furniture company PlayWood, having left PM two years ago.
He began his career in 2001 as export and marketing manager with Jolly Crane leaving at the end of 2004 to take up his first role with PM cranes as export manager for Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. In 2016 - following the Manitex takeover - he became sales manager for Southern Europe and Africa, leaving the business for PlayWood in 2018.
"I am proud to return to the PM family and am confident and convinced that with more than 10 years of experience in the field of hydraulic cranes, I will build more and more solid and lasting relationships with customers by developing sales strategies and activities that contribute to strengthen the PM brand in Italy," said Ghesini.
The company has also appointed Marco Castiglione as export sales director, a role that he has been handling since last year. In total he has spent 20 years with PM, having worked with the company in the late 1990s re-joining in 2003 as export sales manager Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, Balkans, Northern Africa after two years away. Since then he carried out a wide range of duties, including UK country manager, regional sales manager North & West Europe, adding Australia and New Zealand to his territory for both PM and Oil & Steel, and since last year export sales manager.
He began his career in 1995 as a quality control supervisor with Europress, leaving in 1998 to become a service engineer for PM. He left the company in 2001 to take up his first sales job, as export manager for tanning machine manufacturer Rizzi, returning to PM two years later.
Speaking of his new role with PM he said: “I am grateful to the company for the task I was assigned, a role that I accepted immediately with the right motivation and enthusiasm. Over the years, thanks also to the help of my collaborators, I have had the opportunity to build an important commercial network based on solid professional relationships that also pass through human relationships. Over time, many customers have become friends and companions of adventure, facing together moments of difficulty but also moments of great success, which have allowed us to become a great team that has led PM to be one of the world leaders in the truck crane world.”
PM general manager Giovanni Tacconi added: “We are happy to have Stefano and Marco, experienced and talented professionals to drive the sales department. I believe with conviction that they will bring, thanks to their extensive knowledge of the product and markets, an important contribution to the development of the business plan in the coming years. I am confident that together we will continue to provide the attentive service that our customers expect from PM”.
