32 Versalifts for Facelift

UK aerial lift rental company Facelift - which was acquired by AFI last year - is set to take delivery of 32 units of Versalift’s 13.5 metre VTL-135-F van mounted lifts on Ford Transit chassis.

Part of an ongoing fleet refreshment programme, the VTL-135-F offers an outreach of 8.4 metres with a platform capacity of 120kg, while an outreach of 6.2 metres is possible with its maximum capacity of 230kg. The company will start taking delivery of the first units next month.

AFI chief operating officer, Nick Higgins, said: “When looking to expand our self-drive van fleet our main considerations were safety, reliability, performance and after sales support. We turned to the expertise and knowledge of Andy and the Versalift team who took our brief and delivered a package achieving all of our aims. We look forward to receiving the first units in the fourth quarter and have several lined up for long term hire customers already.”

Andy Bray, general manager at Versalift UK, added: “Since its UK launch early last year, the VTL range has quickly become a market leading product, particularly in terms of product quality, performance and reliability. I am confident that this investment in the new VTL platforms will meet with expectations. We look forward to supporting the team at AFI Facelift and building a strong working relationship with them.”

Acquired last August, Facelift is now part of the AFI group which runs a fleet of 6,700 work platforms from 25 depots throughout the UK, including 135 truck mounted and 70 van mounted platforms. It also has an operation in the Middle East.
