The new Alma Crawler Jibbi U-1570

The first in a new ‘Ultralight’ range, the Jibbi U-1570 uses a three section telescopic boom topped by an articulating jib to offer a 15 metre working height with up to 8.4 metres of outreach with 80kg in the 1.4 metre wide platform. Maximum capacity of 250kg is available at an outreach of up to 5.8 metres, while the machine offers 220 degrees of slew – 110 degrees either side of centre.

The U-1570 combines a Multitel aluminium boom and AlmaCrawler Bi-Levelling undercarriage, to offer an overall weight of less than 2,900kg. It is able to drive at heights of up to 9.5 metres on uneven ground or slopes of up to 22 degrees, thanks to Alma’s Dynamic and Pro-Active automatic levelling technology which can full level the machine up on slopes of up to 15 degrees in both axis.

The track width is variable and can be set at an overall width of 1.35, 1.9, 2.15 or 2.45 metres to cope with narrow spaces or increased stability, with working envelope automatically adjusted to suit the actual setting. Power comes from a three cylinder Yanmar diesel, while an AC electric drive motor is available as an option for working indoors.

The transport dimensions can be reduced to 1.35 metres by just under five metres long by rotating the platform 90 degrees and slewing the superstructure to a position slightly offset from centre. The first units will be available later this spring.
