Comet beefs up sales team

Italian truck mounted lift manufacturer Comet has appointed Alessio Mazzari sales manager for northern Italy and Switzerland.

He previously worked with Italian tracked scissor and boom lift manufacturer Almac, where he was sales manager for Italy prior to his departure last year. Prior to that he worked with the Rothe Erde slew ring division of Thyssen Krupp where he was area manager for north east Italy. He will be responsible for managing, increasing and consolidating the company’s presence in the region.

Alessio Mazzari


He began his career in 1999 as a salesman for equipment distributor Maie, leaving in 2003 for a similar role at BM, moving on to Rent and SCAI - the Hitachi dealer - before joining DSVP vacuum technology as area manager for northern Italy in 2011. In 2014 he joined component supplier CCRE leaving for Rothe Erde a year later.

Commercial director Gabriele Valli, said: “We are aware of the quality and potential of our products and for this reason we have decided to take a further step forward by teaming up with professionals with proven experience in the sector like him. Our products are appreciated everywhere in the world and with Alessio's help we are confident of achieving the planned results in the Italian market too.”

The company has also appointed Mirko Luppi as sales manager for Asia, South East Asia and Oceania. He joins the company from MBE, the holding company which trades globally as Mail Box Etc, where he was sales & development manager. Since 2014 he has been involved with the office furniture and interior design market, initially with Zenith Interiors in Hong Kong and then Kokuyu Furniture in Hong Kong. With Comet he will be responsible for coordinating and consolidating sales activities in the region for all of the company’s products.

Valli added: “The addition of the Comet aerial platforms, Botti recovery/tow trucks and XTrux custom equipment brands and the new employees, will allow the group to identify itself more and more as a well established company determined to position itself among the market leaders.
