The company said its goal to become completely carbon neutral will see it reduce emissions from its rental and transport fleet as well as phase out environmentally hazardous substances, reduce energy consumption and waste. 83 percent of the company's fleet of 3,700 machines is already electric or hybrid powered.

Purchasing manager Rikard Jönsson said: “It is extra gratifying that we can continue according to plan despite the pandemic and maintain a strong focus on purchasing machines that create as low an environmental impact as possible. Most of the machines are powered by electric or are hybrids. Of those that are only available with internal combustion engines, the majority are of emission standard Euro 6 and will be refueled with the fossil-free diesel HVO100.”

“The environmental parts of Kranpunkten's sustainability work include measures to reduce emissions from machinery and transport, to phase out substances that are hazardous to the environment and health, and to reduce energy consumption and the amount of waste. That is also why we have a close dialogue with a few carefully selected machine suppliers who share our values and together we work for more environmentally sustainable machines."
