Rental software supplier Point of Rental has appointed Jim Field as business development manager based in the UK.
He joins the company after four years with Boels Rental UK, where he was commercial director. In his new role he will head up a small group tasked with promoting Point of Rental’s abilities to handle businesses in the construction sector.
Field has more than 30 years’ experience in the construction and rental market, having started out in 1998 as an office manager with civil engineer Mowlem. In 1992 he moved to Kier Construction as a project accountant, switching to Amec Civil Engineering three years later to take up the role of finance and administration manager. In 1999 he got his first taste of the rental market when he joined Speedy as a sales manager in the greater Manchester region. Four years later he was tempted back to Amec as procurement manager, moving to Supply UK in late 2007, where he remained for almost 10 years before joining Boels.
Point of Rental’s chief executive, Wayne Harris said: “Jim’s wealth of experience makes him a unique voice in the hire industry. Paired with his software knowledge, he’ll be able to show new audiences that Point of Rental is more than just great hire software and service.”
Field added: “It’s really about making people realise that we have a solution to a problem or situation that they didn’t even know they had.”
