New non-exec for Ashtead

Ashtead, the owner of Sunbelt Rentals in the North America and the UK, has appointed Renata Ribeiro as a non-executive director. She has also been appointed to the audit, remuneration and nomination committees.

Ribeiro has dual Brazilian and US nationality and is currently senior vice president, operations strategy for Carnival - the cruise group - where she has worked in various increasingly senior roles since 2008. She began her career in 1995 when she joined the Sao Paolo office of Booz & Company, the strategy consulting group - now part of PwC - as an associate. Five years later she moved to the Boston Consulting Group as a principal, leaving in 2005 for Natura, Brazil’s largest cosmetics company, where she was director of international new business development. After three years with the business, she moved to Miami to take up her first job with Carnival as director of guest experience. Since then she has held a number of increasingly senior roles most of which involved leading customer focused areas of the business. She took up her current role in 2020.
