JCB electric telehandler arrives in Spain
Spanish rental group GAM has taken the first JCB 525-60E all-electric telehandler to arrive in Spain or Portugal.
GAM has not said how many units it has ordered but we do know that the first units will be available from its San Fernando de Henares depot in Madrid and its Molins de Rei branch in Barcelona.

The 525-60E offers a maximum lift height of six metres with 2,000kg on the forks, while its maximum capacity is 2,500kg. The machine uses a 96V lithium-ion battery pack with an onboard charger that can recharge the machine overnight from a standard 230 volt 16 amp outlet, while a JCB Fast Charge remote three phase charger - good for all JCB ETech electric powered machines - can take the pack to 80 percent in 60 minutes or fully recharge from empty to full in 2.5 hours.
The machine is also equipped with regenerative braking and hydraulics on boom lowering and retraction to top up the battery pack while working. It is said to offer the same performance as the diesel version, while the battery pack is good for a full days operation on a single charge.
