AFI on TV

A television programme due to air on the Discovery Channel in September will include an IPAF aerial lift training course at UK access rental company AFI-Uplift.

Brian Parker, general training manager at AFI-UpLift was recently filmed putting three young people through their paces when he trained them in how to operate a Haulotte HA16PX self propelled articulated boom.

The filming at AFI’s London West Depot was for the programme ‘Hard Labour’, which takes some of “Britain’s roughest young people” and gives them the challenge and the opportunity of a lifetime tackling Britain’s toughest jobs.

In the programme the trainees will strip down an aircraft, to do that they needed to operate a boom lift so Parker put them all through the IPAF operators’ course, the results of the course are subject to a confidentiality contract.

Parker said: “I enjoyed taking part in the programme, particularly because it will help to promote the safety aspects and benefits of powered access training to a national audience.”
