A first for Nederhoff

Dutch crane rental company Kraanbedrijf Nederhoff has taken delivery of the first five tonne all-electric Klaas K950LEX aluminium boomed truck mounted crane.

Mounted on a Volvo FE fully electric three axle chassis, the K950LEX is the result of a collaboration between Klaas Kranbau, Nederhoff, All-Up, and the Hengelo branch of Volvo Truck dealer Nijwa. It is rated at seven metres wheere it can lift its five tonne maximum capacity to a height of up to nine metres. It features a four section main boom and four section luffing upper boom/jib for a maximum tip height of 45 metres. It can lift one tonne at a 28 metre radius or take 500kg to 36.5 metres. An optional work platform attachment offers a working height of just over 41 metres. Standard features include self-levelling outriggers, extendable counterweight, slew limit settings and point to point memory function. It features two electric motors driven by a 225 kW battery pack, allowing a driving range of up to 275km on a single charge.

The crane was officially handed over during the Bouwbeurs trade fair in the Netherlands earlier this month and will join Nederhoff’s fleet alongside its diesel version - the K950 - to work on urban construction projects.

Kraanbedrijf Nederhoff is based in Vianen south of Utrecht and also operates from depots in Gouda and Rotterdam. The current fleet includes cranes from four to 700 tonnes, heavy haulage equipment up to 500 tonnes and lifting gear, with around 100 employees.
