A first for the Netherlands

Dutch rental company Hoogwerkerverhuur Van Der Voort has taken delivery of the first 25 metre Multitel MJE250 Axon all electric telescopic truck mounted platform to arrive in the Netherlands.

The new platform was purchased through local distributor Eurosupply with the handover at Bauma last week.

Mounted on a 3.5 tonne Iveco e-Daily 50C14 E electric chassis, the original MJE250 was launched in 2021, while the all electric Axon is new. The dual battery pack feeds both the chassis and the superstructure and can operate while plugged in.

The specification is much the same as the original machine, with a five section telescopic aluminium boom topped by a jib with 180 degrees of articulation, all of which provides a working height of 24.7 metres along with a maximum outreach of 16.5 metres with a 100kg in the platform, while the maximum platform capacity of 250kg is available at up to 12.5 metres outreach. The lift can also reach up to 3.5 metres below ground level.

Owner Dwight Van Der Voort said: "We chose to expand our fleet with the full electric MJE250, it's a strategic move in response to a growing market demand for environmentally friendly machines. Zero emissions, silent operation for sensitive areas or night work, access to low emission zones, and significant cost savings are now essential."

Based in Nieuwegein, south of Amsterdam, Hoogwerkerverhuur Van Der Voort was founded in 1980 and now runs a fleet of 110 aerial work platforms including truck mounts, scissors and spiders between seven and 90 metres.
