UK construction company PCE has taken delivery of its first telescopic crawler crane, a 150 tonne Liebherr LTR 1150.
The handover
The LTR 1150 features a six section 52 metre main boom topped by a 10.8 to 19 metre bi-fold lattice swingaway extension which can be further extended with two seven metre lattice extensions for a maximum tip height of 88 metres. The crane can be transported with tracks fitted on a low loader with a maximum transport width of 3.5 metres.

PCE supply chain director Chris McReynolds said: "The development of this particular machine has filled a gap that PCE has been looking to fulfil for several years. The great lift capacity and ease of transport really help PCE to be self-sufficient with new project mobilisations, demobilising our lattice crawlers and other large items of plant and equipment, whilst still capable of erecting projects alongside our other cranes during the construction of major projects."
The LTR 1150 joins PCE's existing fleet of two Liebherr LR 1160.1 lattice boom cranes. The company purchased its first Liebherr crane in 2001, and now runs five lattice boom models, two 100 tonne LR 1100s, one 300 tonne LR 1300 and two 160 tonne LR 1160.
Formerly Precast Concrete Erection, PCE was founded in 1969 by Vince Wetton. The company is based in Tamworth, Staffordshire and provides design and build superstructure across all sectors through design for manufacture, assembly and ‘system build’ solutions.
