Austrian loader crane and aerial lift manufacturer Palfinger has invested $15 million in a new North American parts distribution centre in Huntley, Illinois.
The new facility in Huntley
The 16,500 square metre facility kicks off with around 60,000 part lines for loader cranes, forklifts, cable hoists and refuse loaders amongst others. The opening of the facility coincided with this year’s North America dealer conference attended by 200 dealers and partners.
Located near Chicago's O'Hare Airport, the Rockford cargo hub and interstate corridors, the centre uses an AutoStore robotic system for parts picking and is expected to process 75,000 shipments a year in partnership with its global logistics provider, the German group L.I.T. Palfinger says that it aims to double its global parts and service revenue by 2030 through such service infrastructure investments.Until now replacement parts were supplied to North American customers from four locations, Trenton - New Jersey, Niagara Falls - Canada, Oklahoma City, and Council Bluffs-Omaha.

Palfinger chief executive Andreas Klauser said: "Service is a growth driver for Palfinger, and North America is one of our important markets. The Huntley facility is a major investment in keeping our customers up and running. It's about speed, reliability, and demonstrating our commitment and confidence to this region."
Ismael Daneluz, vice president of sales for the Americas added: "The new Huntley facility demonstrates how focusing on service and finding ways to better support customers are key strategies for us in North America. Our focus is simple: get customers what they need, when they need it, and keep their equipment working at peak performance."
