Uplifter administration

German spider crane and glass handling sales and rental company Uplifter has appointed a preliminary insolvency administrator following an order from the Amberg District Court.

The company, which continues to operate and trade while it restructures its finances, is based in Guteneck in Bavaria and at one time employed 75 staff, their salaries are apparently secured through insolvency benefits.

A statement from the administrator said: “The lifting technology company will continue to operate in full under the management of the Pluta team. All services, as well as product rentals and sales, will remain unchanged. An investor process has also been launched to find a long term solution for the business. Initial inquiries have already been received, and discussions are expected to begin shortly.”

Managing director Martin Lobinger added: "The team stands united behind the company and supports its continuation. The difficult economic environment and the general market situation prompted this insolvency filing. The current industry environment is certainly not easy, but I still see opportunities for the future. We hope that an investor will recognise the potential and take over our business.”

Uplifter was established in 2001 and has worked in the spider crane market for most of that time. It began buying Maeda cranes in 2003 and was appointed as a Maeda crane dealer in 2013, switching to Chinese manufacturer SPT in 2022
